Round of 4
#16 Seed: The 06/07 Georgetown Hoya's were a dominant team down low, and were rewarded with a #2 dance see for their season of hard work and effort. Led by future NBA Celtic player Jeff Green, defense was their forte. These Hoyas, coached by John Thompson III, will be remembered by their rabid fans for bringing home their prestigious Final 4 banner.  For many CBB fans, it was Georgetown's epic comeback and eventual overtime victory over North Carolina and POY Tyler Hansborough in the Elite 8 that defined their season. This game was hyped as 'The rematch' of the memorable 1982 championship game, a battle that first launched UNC's Michael Jordan onto the national spotlight. March 2007 was Patrick Ewing Jr's time to shine under the TV's bright lens with a series of backdoor cuts and critical rebounds.  Truly one of the great elite matchups of the decade, a moment the Hoya Nation in general, and the Thompson family in particular, will never forget!
