Round of 32
Purdue's 2010/11 dream was suppose to have ended with Big 10 POY Robbie Hummel's season ending injury. Boilermaker head coach Matt Painter never brought into that scenario, and rallied his team to a 3 seed in the big dance. Behind the play of All-American guard E'Twaun Moore and Center JaJuan Johnson, Painter orchestrated his other players roles in masterful fashion, resulting in a 14-4 Big Ten campaign.  Unfortunately for Purdue, they drew Shaka Smart's VCU squad, with it's potent full court press, in their 'Round of 32' match-up.  VCU put the defensive clamps on Moore, beating the Boilers 94-76, and thus advancing to the Sweet 16 on their way to their historic Final 4 run.
