#6 Seed: The 2005/06 Texas team is especially noteworthy for its even play, with A or B ratings on all 14 NCAA stat line metrics. These Longhorns were a force in the paint, the key factor which drove their stifling defense. Coach Rick Barnes team featured 3 NBA players, most notably center LaMarcus Aldridge, the second overall NBA draft pick that year.  Teammates P.J. Tucker and Daniel Gibson followed Aldridge into the NBA, shoring up the Texas attack. The Longhorns battled their way through to their regional final, where they ran into a wall of LSU Tigers. Glenn 'Big Baby' Davis, a 300 lb center with nimble moves, led LSU to an overtime victory over Texas, stopping the Long Horns at the Elite 8 point.
